Dear friends, family and associates,

This Sunday, I will be taking part in the Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon (10km). For those of you who know me well or at least my fitness level well might be wondering have I gone crazy or something.

I know. I have led a totally sedentary lifestyle.

On this Monday morning, I am sitting down here thinking… “WHAT HAVE I DONE?” To cut the long story short, a couple of months ago, I thought it would be a good idea to have a fitness goal and start working towards it. And what better ways to start than a 10km run at the end of the year right? Unfortunately, due to work and family commitments (all excuses, I know), I have never gotten down to training for it.

Since I am going to try to complete this 10km anyway, be it walking most of the 10km, I thought I should provide myself with a better motivation, other than thinking why am I torturing myself every step of the way…

SO, I am running to raise funds to provide Hepatitis B vaccinations for 100 children in Bangladesh, a program under World Vision Singapore. 2 million children die every year from diseases, most of which are preventable. Through this simple vaccination that most of us in developed countries have taken for granted, we can save a child’s life.

And if you would like to support this worthy cause, you could pledge $1 for every 1km that I run. Or you could pledge more! :) Please refer to the links above for Paypal.

A BIG thank you in advance for your kind generosity. I will update you on how it went by this Sunday in photos and in words…

Wish me luck! :)

Sincerely,
Violet
