Hi Violet, my regards to your best friend as my husband was also battling with cancer when I got married to him 12 years ago. My entire family was against it but my thoughts were; he is an average individual like everyone and it is not his fault that he has cancer. He was the sweetest guy I knew and I believe that he deserved a good life. Just a word of advise for your friend, the last few months before his' departure' can be pretty though and only GOD can give her the strength. I'm glad she is a Christian cause only Jesus has the power to heal her 'wound'. I lost my husband to cancer 7 years ago and it is not easy being a widow but GOD has given me the strength and been with me throughout this battlefield. My prayers for the lovely newy weds.

Hi Serene,
Thanks for popping by, and thanks for your note of encouragement... Writing a 'report card' every year gives me time to reflect and also thank people around me for touching my life. :) Happy New Year, and catch up when you are back in SG!

You guys are doing a wonderful job! I guess the attitude of some is that they depend solely on dating agencies to find them a match, and to some, they must get a perfect match. Actually being with anyone, whether they fit your demands or not, is really on how both get along and compromise each other. At the end of the day, when they find someone they can really get along with, maybe they will realise that whatever they look for need not be that totally essential. They may perhaps find that those who fit what they look for on the surface may not be the person they may really like intrinsically.

Having said that, Happy New Year to you, Jamie and family, as well as to the team at Lunch Actually! May 2010 be the start of a wonderful decade for everyone!

Hi Violet,

Thanks for sharing such personal thoughts of 2009. We all live our lives event after event and there are so much to celebrate yet always so much to reflect on. Your countdown is really inspiring for me to starting writing more and especially to my loved ones. Happy New Year to you and family and hope to catch up soon.

Cheers,
Serene
