Hi iblogme!

Thanks for dropping by! :)

I think many times, we attribute our happiness to things that are beyond our control. For example, you ask a wife. What would make you happy? She might say to you... if only my husband comes home earlier everyday, or if my kids are smarter and get better grades in school, or if my boss could treat me more fairly... all these items are beyond her control.

If she attribute her happiness to cooking a wonderful meal for her husband and kids, or making a customer's day by going that extra mile, then perhaps she would be a much happier person. :) As then, the factors contributing to her happiness are things that she can do, things that she can individually achieve.

To me, happiness is a state of mind. I will myself to be happy everyday. Of course there are momentarily 'dark clouds', but these pass. And when people ask me, "Are you happy?", I can confidently say... "I am."

Sometimes, I am close to feeling happy. Sometimes, I feel I have happiness in my grasp. Other times, I feel as if I am trying to get a whiff of happiness.

In the end, I think I am not truly happy yet. Is there a single thing that can make a more lasting imprint of happiness? I doubt so. So many things contribute to our happiness, and we are trying to fulfill each and every one of them.

Thanks for the post. It was a worthwhile read.
